While we are so happy to welcome in the new year, still having to deal with a global pandemic doesn't exactly help matters. As we all know shopping for home furnishings always presents its own unique challenges--what the heck size, color, or style do you need? There is no way you can figure this out without going to a store. You need to physically see and touch the merchandise. An image is just that--an image--you cannot know how a sofa feels from a photo.

Uncomfortable coming into the store?  Call us up and make an appointment so you can shop solo.  Please wear a mask; we will.

Once you are here we will be happy to take the time to help you figure out exactly what your home requires and do our best to make it happen. The more information you come in with--the easier it will be for us to figure out what works best. Measure, measure, and then measure your space again. We're happy to see pictures but make sure you know where they are on your mobile device before you come in. While our background is not in Interior Design we have been in this business a long time and have a fairly good idea of what should go where. We also know many of the local design professionals and are happy to recommend someone if you want to go that route.

 

There is simply no doubt that at this point in time, when so much outside of our homes is still in a state of flux, our interiors have become much more important. You might not be able to pack the kids off to school or zip to the office but you can make sure you all have a quiet place to work, enough shelves and cabinets to put your books and papers away, and a peaceful corner to watch TV or do a puzzle. 

 

We know we can't solve the world's problems but we can make your homes a lot more enjoyable. For simple the best in New Jersey home furnishings--you can't beat British Cottage. We don't do fancy-shmancy; we expect homes to be functional first, but are nonetheless hopeful that we will add more than a few elements of style to the mix.

We offer custom upholstery by Century Furniture, Hickory White and Lillian August. The latter two are the high end, designer driven divisions of the Sherrill Furniture Company. This is simply some of the best American furniture on the market today and you can buy it at our New Jersey fine furniture store. We also offer a wide assortment of table lamps, artwork, and even antiques so you can easily furnish an entire home or simply refresh your current abode...

And you can always Shop-on-Line at British Cottage! Every day we will endeavor to get more products onto our new "British Cottage To Go" site. The tricky part is not inventory--of which we have plenty--but shipping. The Wayfairs and many of the other companies that offer free shipping operate at a loss and that is not an option here.
